The Bellevue College women’s golf team is having open tryouts to recruit talented players for the team in the 2015-2016 season. The team seeks more quality players to join the team, and all interested BC students are encouraged to contact Head Coach Bryan Stevens during school hours at the BC Athletics department located in the Bellevue College gym. The tryouts will be open until the end of the 2015 winter quarter.

The team ended last season with three victories and one second place finish at the Walla Walla invitational. The team won the Ann Swanson cup at Trophy Lake Golf and Casting Club in Port Orchard.

The team is seeking new athletes to join its roster as it looks toward new competitions in the 2015-2016 season.

The spring season will start March 1, but BC will not play until April 2 with a visit to the Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton to play against Olympic College and Walla Walla Community College in the Olympic invitational.

According to Stevens, the team is planning tournament trips and new practice routines. He is optimistic and confident in his team’s abilities and believes collaboration is crucial to the team’s success.

“The team is looking very strong for the spring season and will be a contender for the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges championship. My goal is to win the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges Championships and improve each player individually, preparing them for the next step in their golf careers,” Stevens said.

Freshman Dana Fox said last season was splendid thanks to her teammates: “It was great to be a part of an all-around great competitive team. We all work so well together, it’s hard to bring us down. Everyone puts their best efforts in at all times which makes us a hard team to compete against. We don’t have a weak link in our team, and the new players are only going to add to our strength as a team overall,” Fox said. Her goal is to play her best golf for her team, and believes BC is going to be the team to beat this year.

BC will play their second game on April 19 at Avondale Golf Course, Hayden Lake North Idaho, with Northwest Athletic Association of Community College’s championship teams.
New players will officially become part of the team with the start of the 2015-2016 season.
