Sean “Puffy” Combs, Puff Daddy, Puffy, Puff, P. Diddy, Diddy, whatever you want to call him, has led a rewarding rapper life. His real name, as most people know by now, is Sean John Combs.

He was born November 4, 1969 in Harlem, New York. He is a rapper, record producer, actor, dancer, singer, and men’s fashion designer.

He has won three Grammy awards and two MTV awards for his music in addition to his Council of Fashion Designers of America award for his clothing line labeled Sean John.

He was originally called Puff Daddy, then P. Diddy, and then just Diddy, which I believe is the most recent and accurate name.

Combs attended Howard University in Washington D.C. where he showed an aptitude for marketing.

He started out as a party promoter but then became an intern at Uptown Records in New York.

After becoming the top executive at Uptown Records, Combs dropped out of Howard University.

In 1993 Combs was fired from Uptown Records where he then established Bad Boy Records with fellow rapper The Notorious B.I.G.

In 1997 Combs recorded his first hit under the name “Puff Daddy.” The song was called “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down” and it spent six weeks as #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.

His debut album “No Way Out” was also #1 and received a 1998 Grammy award for best rap album.

In 1998 Combs also developed his clothing like Sean John.

Diddy has been arrested for possession of weapons and aggravated assault, and other similar charges multiple times throughout his career, but has come out of it each time the same man as before.

In 2001 Combs officially changed his stage name from Puff Daddy to P. Diddy.

In 2002 Combs started his reality TV show “Making the Band”: where a group of artists would compete to be in “the band” that P. Diddy would create, was featured on Fortune magazine’s “40 Richest People Under  40” list, and was #1 in the list of top ten richest people in hip hop.

His estimated worth was $346 million in 2006.

In 2005 P. Diddy officially changed his stage name yet again to just Diddy.

Sean John Combs has never been married but has five biological children between three women, former girlfriends, Kimberly Porter, Misa Hylton-Brim, and Sarah Chapman.

His children are; Justin Dior Combs (born in 1993), who Combs named one of his restaurants after, second was Christian Casey Combs (born in 1998), third and fourth children were twin girls named D’Lila Star Combs and Jesse James Combs (born in 2007), and his last daughter was Chance, whom he just started taking responsibility for in 2007.
