Adjunct faculty member Spencer De Mille passes away

On Tuesday, Feb. 21, Bellevue College recieved word that adjunct faculty  member Spencer DeMille passed away. He has worked here since 2002 as an interior design instructor and was instrumental in the development of BC’s applied bachelor’s degree in interior design.

In addition to working at BC, De Mille was also on the board of the Northern Pacific Chapter of the International Interior Design Association.

His professional emphasis was on corporate workplace design, but he also had experience in public, residential, and hospitality design. He worked for four of the ten largest interior design firms in the country.

At BC, Professor De Mille was known as a teacher who challenged his students and really believed that they could fulfill their potential. He always pushed his students to achieve their very best.

A memorial service for Professor De Mille took place on Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Seattle World Trade Center.
